LLM for BFSI sector, personal AI server launched
Fynd showcased the launch of BharatDiffusion v2, a diffusion-based AI model designed to create images that reflect India's rich culture. The event called Adbhut India by non-profit people+ai featured a display of AI-powered community initiatives by fintech company Setu, EkStep Foundation which founded people+ai, Rockefeller Foundation, Microsoft Research, and Fynd.
These initiatives highlighted the diverse applications of AI in tackling real-world problems.
Fintech company Setu unveiled Sesame – a large language model (LLM) specifically designed for the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) sector. Developed in collaboration with indigenous AI research firm Sarvam AI, this marks a "ChatGPT Moment" in financial services, said Nikhil Kumar, co-founder, Setu.

Von Neumann AI presented the audience with their new product JOHNAIC, a personal AI server. This “cloud in a box” solution will cut down AI costs by 85%, said Sasank Chilamkurthy, founder of Von Neumann AI. It also comes with in-built SaaS and AI tools to enable SMEs and startups.
Personal health records app DRiefcase under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, conducted a pilot survey to collate qualitative feedback from patients at the M Kashiram Hospital, Kanpur. The survey focused on the ABDM Scan & Share module, which aims to reduce patient wait times at hospitals.
In the future, it could potentially directly convey public feedback from hospitals to health ministries, said Harsh Parikh, Founder - DRiefcase
Entertainment platform STAGE serving the Haryanvi and Rajasthani cultures presented a Haryanvi-dialect based AI voice agent on their OTT platform. This AI agent connects with users in Haryanvi, offering not just technical support but also forging an emotional connection.
STAGE recently turned profitable with over 1.2 million paying subscribers, said Harsh Mani Tripathi, co-founder of STAGE.
Tanuj Bhojwani, head, people+ai, said that India needs AI more than any other country in the world. It is a diverse and vibrant population that uses DPIs in their daily lives. In the future, India's young population will heavily use AI for everything from entertainment to education.
“We are already the world’s largest consumers of mobile data, we will be the same on AI, making India the AI use case capital of the world,” he said.
